Application Requirements  Applicants should be between 7 and 18 years of age.  The application form and payment must be received before the child's place in the course can be reserved.  There is a Zero Tolerance policy for drugs, alcohol and cigarettes. If caught, the child will be expelled from the course without a refund.  Poor behaviour, or behaviour which might jeopardize the safety of others, or cause negligent damage to the club facilities and boats, may be grounds for expulsion from the course without refund.  Courses will not be extended due to a lack of wind or poor weather.  Children who wear glasses or expensive sunglasses must wear straps for them (e.g. Croakies) Refund Policy  Full refund of Summer Sailing course fees will be provided to those who withdraw a minimum of three weeks prior to classes commencing; or at any time prior to classes commencing if an alternate child is available to fill the vacancy created.  A pro-rated refund, less $50, will be provided to those who must cease attendance after a course has commenced because of unanticipated illness [upon receipt of certification by a doctor] or other extenuating circumstances such as family emergency, as deemed satisfactory to the SNSYC Executive. Financial Assistance Application Criteria  Letter of application for funding. Describe your child and how our program can help. Justify why the assistance is required.  Second letter from teacher, friend or neighbour confirming why the child and family are suitable candidates.  Mail to SNSYC labeled “Summer Sailing School Bursary Application”. I, the undersigned, as a parent or legal guardian of the above student, hereby agree to waive all rights of action against the Sidney North Saanich Yacht Club, its Officers, Members, Agents and employees to hold them harmless from all claims, actions or demands by, or on behalf of, the student that may arise from the participation in the SNSYC Summer Sailing League programme. I hereby permit SNSYC to retain and use information on this application form for yacht club purposes in accordance with SNSYC’s privacy policy. I herby permit SNSYC to use photographs of the student taken during the sailing program to be used for promoting the sailing program, such as in a SNSYC brochure, website, or newsletter.
